Head of Technology & AI

  • On-site
    • Hanoi, Hà Nội, Vietnam

Job description

About Insinet

Insinet is the technology company of Insignia Group, headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam. Insignia Group is now establishing Insinet as its central technology hub, with full ownership and control of every digital asset the Group builds, operates and places in front of clients.

From Hanoi, Insinet will design, build, develop and run the Group’s websites, mobile applications, core platforms and operating systems, its rewards and retail platform, a new AI-powered digital wallet and super app, and the enterprise systems that run the Group’s regulated financial services and lifestyle businesses, including CRM, cloud servers and business applications. Bringing this capability in-house replaces reliance on external vendors, protects the Group’s intellectual property and gives Insignia full control over quality, security, speed and cost.

Artificial intelligence sits at the centre of this mandate. Insinet will embed AI into most client-facing products and into the Group’s internal processes, serving Insignia Group’s international operations across financial services, payments, lifestyle management and digital platforms, including VCFC and the Group’s other subsidiaries and partners.

Role Overview

The Head of Technology & AI will build and lead Insinet’s Hanoi technology hub and will hold end-to-end accountability for the Group’s digital product portfolio and for the technology needs of every Group business, regulated and lifestyle alike, from architecture and engineering through to delivery, security and live operations.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will set the technology strategy, recruit and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, take over existing digital assets from third-party providers, and deliver the Group’s flagship builds: the AI-enabled digital wallet and super app, the rewards and retail platform, and the AI layer that will run across client experiences and internal operations.

Working directly with Group leadership and with business, compliance and partner teams across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the Head of Technology & AI will turn commercial priorities into secure, scalable and well-engineered products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Leadership & Hub Set-Up

·       Define and own Insinet’s technology strategy, architecture principles and multi-year product and engineering roadmap, aligned with Insignia Group’s commercial priorities.

·       Establish the Hanoi technology hub from the ground up, including team structure, engineering standards, tooling, development workflows and office technology set-up.

·       Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing team covering software engineering, mobile, AI/ML, data, DevOps, QA, UI/UX and product management.

·       Build a delivery culture based on agile practices, clear ownership, code quality, documentation and measurable outcomes.

·       Prepare and manage the technology budget, build-versus-buy decisions, licensing and infrastructure costs.

·       Report regularly to Group leadership on delivery progress, risks, costs and technology opportunities.

2. Full Ownership of Digital Assets: Websites, Apps & Operating Systems

·       Take full control of the design, build, development, hosting, maintenance and continuous improvement of all Group digital assets, including corporate and brand websites, client portals, mobile applications, core platforms and operating systems.

·       Lead the structured transition of existing digital assets, source code, infrastructure and data from external vendors to Insinet, with no disruption to clients or operations.

·       Own the full software development lifecycle: requirements, UX/UI design, architecture, development, testing, release, monitoring and support.

·       Build and maintain the Group’s core platform and operating-system layer, including shared services, back-office systems, client management, identity, payments integration and administration tools that power multiple brands and products.

·       Create shared design systems, reusable components and common APIs so that new products and brands can launch quickly and consistently.

·       Deliver premium, high-performance digital experiences that reflect the standards expected by high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

3. Digital Wallet & AI Super App

·       Lead the strategy, architecture, build and launch of the Group’s digital wallet and super app, bringing payments, cards, rewards, lifestyle services and partner offerings into a single client experience.

·       Design core wallet capabilities, including account management, card and payment integration, multi-currency balances, transfers, transaction history, digital-asset and crypto-to-fiat functionality where licensed, and secure onboarding with KYC/AML.

·       Build AI capability into the super app from the start, including a conversational AI assistant, personalised recommendations, intelligent concierge and lifestyle requests, spending insights and proactive client notifications.

·       Develop a modular, mini-app or partner-service architecture that allows banks, merchants, hospitality partners and Group brands to plug into the platform.

·       Integrate with card issuers, processors, acquirers, banking partners, payment gateways and digital-wallet schemes such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

·       Make sure the wallet meets the regulatory, security and licensing requirements of each market in which it operates.

4. Rewards & Retail Platform

·       Design, build and operate the Group’s rewards and retail platform, including loyalty points, tiers, redemption, a curated marketplace, merchant and partner catalogues, and order and fulfilment flows.

·       Integrate the rewards platform with the digital wallet, card programmes, partner systems and payment rails.

·       Use AI and data to personalise offers, rewards and product recommendations, and to support merchandising, pricing and campaign performance.

·       Provide partner and merchant onboarding tools, reporting dashboards and administration functions for business teams.

5. AI in Client-Facing Products

·       Define and deliver an AI roadmap that embeds AI capability into most digital assets placed in front of clients, including websites, apps, the super app, the rewards platform and client service channels.

·       Build and deploy AI features such as conversational assistants and AI concierge, personalisation engines, intelligent search, recommendations, multilingual support and AI-assisted client servicing.

·       Select, integrate and manage AI models and providers, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents and machine-learning models, balancing quality, cost, latency and data privacy.

·       Establish the data foundations AI depends on, including data pipelines, a governed data platform, analytics and model monitoring.

·       Make sure every client-facing AI experience is accurate, discreet, secure and aligned with the Group’s premium brand standards.

6. AI & Automation Across Group Processes

·       Identify, prioritise and deliver opportunities to add AI capability to most of the Group’s internal processes, including client onboarding, KYC/AML support, compliance monitoring, fraud and risk detection, finance and reconciliation, customer service, marketing, reporting and document handling.

·       Build internal AI tools, assistants and workflow automations that improve efficiency, accuracy and decision-making across departments and international offices.

·       Work with department heads to redesign processes around AI and automation, and measure the operational and cost impact.

·       Train and support employees in the effective and responsible use of AI tools.

7. Enterprise Systems for Regulated & Lifestyle Businesses

·       Own the technology requirements of all Group companies, covering both the regulated financial services businesses and the lifestyle and concierge businesses.

·       Select, implement, integrate and manage the Group’s CRM platform as a single, secure view of each client across brands, cards, wallet, rewards and lifestyle services, with AI-driven insights and client segmentation.

·       Provide and operate the systems regulated entities depend on, including card and account management, payment processing integrations, KYC/AML and onboarding, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, regulatory reporting, audit trails and record-keeping.

·       Provide and operate the systems lifestyle businesses depend on, including concierge request and case management, bookings and reservations, partner and supplier management, membership and client service tools.

·       Manage corporate business applications, including finance and ERP, accounting and reconciliation, HR, document management, collaboration, email and telephony.

·       Design, provision and manage the Group’s cloud-based servers, hosting and environments, with appropriate data residency, segregation between regulated and non-regulated entities, and cost control.

·       Integrate all enterprise systems through secure APIs and a shared data layer, so client, transaction and operational data flows reliably between departments and Group companies.

8. Architecture, Infrastructure & DevOps

·       Design a secure, scalable, cloud-native architecture (Microsoft Azure, AWS or equivalent) built on APIs and microservices, able to support high-availability financial services and multiple products and markets.

·       Implement DevOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, monitoring, alerting and incident management.

·       Own system performance, availability and reliability, with clear service levels for client-facing platforms.

·       Maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements, and keep technical documentation current.

·       Oversee internal IT, including workstations, Microsoft 365 or equivalent, access management, IT support for international offices, and inventories of equipment, licences and subscriptions.

9. Cybersecurity, Data Protection & Responsible AI

·       Build security into every product by design, including secure coding, penetration testing, vulnerability management, encryption, identity and access management, and fraud prevention.

·       Make sure platforms comply with relevant standards and regulations, including PCI DSS for card data, applicable data protection and cybersecurity laws in Vietnam, the EU (GDPR) and other operating markets, and the requirements of the Group’s regulators and licensing bodies.

·       Establish an AI governance framework covering data privacy, model risk, explainability, human oversight, bias and acceptable use, particularly for financial services and client data.

·       Work closely with the Group’s compliance, legal and risk teams on audits, regulatory submissions and incident response.

10. Vendor, Partner & Stakeholder Management

·       Manage relationships with technology vendors, cloud and AI providers, card processors, banks, payment partners and other integration partners.

·       Evaluate technology solutions, proposals and contracts, and lead technical due diligence on partners and acquisitions where required.

·       Act as the technical point of contact for Group companies, subsidiaries and joint-venture partners using Insinet platforms.

·       Translate technical topics clearly for executives, partners and non-technical stakeholders.
